A tonneau is a great asset to any Bugeye, particularly since most Sprites are fair weather cars and a well-fit tonneau will keep a brief shower out of your cockpit if your car is parked outside when precip passes through. Tonneaus also keep dust, leaves (and bird droppings!) out of your nice car when it’s parked. I recommend one for every Bugeye!
These Pebble Grain Tonneaus are available in Black and Tan, they are a good economical choice especially for cars in hot climates. If you are in a cold region, we recommend our Deluxe Vinyl, it’s far easier to fit and use than most of the tonneaus on the market and it performs better in the cold. We have our Deluxe Vinyl tonneau available in black, white and red. Click here to check out our Deluxe Vinyl Long Tonneau selection.
Most Bugeyes are fit with a long tonneau that attaches to the top fasteners in the back. Some are fit with a short tonneau and these have traditionally been hard to find. If you have a row of studs along your back cockpit edge, you will need a short tonneau. Click here to check out our Short Tonneaus. Custom colors are also available, we’ve fit about 100 different tonneaus! Please email Info@bugeyeguy.com for details. Note: all tonneaus must be custom fit to your car. They are sold with the necessary fasteners and you will need to locate and attach them to your new tonneau. Both materials we offer are high-quality tonneaus that will last for many years!
NOTE: The short vinyl strips that run side to side in about the middle of the tonneau are for fastening the tonneau over the trunk compartment when the tonneau is folded downward. if you desire to use this feature you will need four lift dot studs mounted on your rear bulkhead behind your kidneys and four lift dot female fittings attached on these flaps so that you can form a fabric bulkhead in front of the opening to the boot.
We now offer a Tonneau Pouch to keep your cover safe when off the car, click here to get one to go with your new Tonneau.
If you need the female fittings for your tonneau, find them here.
If you need the punch tool to install your fittings, find it here. You will also need a round punch for the tenax fittings.
