One issue when working with 60 year old cars is, sometimes, they aren't as straight as they once were. When this happens, it can cause fitment issues, especially in the doors and latches. This little piece can help fix that. It's a spacer for the door striker, it will push the striker out just a bit so the latch can catch it.
We were offering fiber striker spacers, but we weren't a fan of them because they would squish down when installed. So, we decided to make them out of metal. We now have three different thicknesses available for the spacers (.030", .040", .080"). When we install these spacers, the first thing we do is get the striker as centered as possible on the latch, then we apply however many spacers are needed. When you center the striker on the latch, it cuts down on the wear of both the latch and the striker.
Note: The .030" spacer is galvanized while the .040" & .080" are made from aluminum.
