Bugeye USB Port

Back in 1958, I suspect that no one could conceive we would all one day carry a computer in our pocket more powerful than any that existed back in the day! Sometimes melding old and new technologies can be difficult, but here is a an accessory that can help! This USB receptacle can be fit into an existing hole in your dash such as your windshield washer hole, or mounted on its own and hidden under the dash. Keep your modern electronics charged up!

Each one has 2 USB ports and 1 USB-C port. This wire-in socket also has a voltmeter reading which will tell you what your battery is outputting. 

We like to mount these under the dashboard to keep it hidden - if you would like, you can add a mounting bracket to your order!

NOTE: This part is for NEGATIVE GROUND cars only. It will not work with a positive-ground system.

Installation notes: Wiring up this USB port on a Bugeye is very simple. There are two wires, a "hot" wire (red) and a "ground" wire (black). The black just needs to be connected to a good ground source, like a bolt or screw on the firewall or ganged up with another under-dash ground. The power wire can either be connected to the ignition switch on the post with the WHITE wires on it, or a wire can be run directly to the fuse block and inserted into the terminal where all the WHITE wires are (the fuse box method is preferred). This will allow the port to operate on keyed power (so it doesn't drain your battery if you leave something plugged into it overnight) and will be fused.
