Pictures of the brake assemblies are provided to help identify what style you have.
NOTE 1: These brake drums come unpainted with a light application of oil to keep them shiny until installation, at which time this oil is to be cleaned off with brake cleaner. You may choose to paint them after installation to keep them from rusting or leave them natural, as any rust that appears will only be cosmetic and not affect braking performance.
NOTE 2: Sometimes you may need to relieve some material around the outside edge of the drum if you experience some slight grinding during sharp turns from the drum interfering with the backing plate.
CONCOURS NOTE: The concours standards for Bugeyes do not specifically mention brake drum color, but we chose to paint them black on 501, our concours Bugeye and the first production Sprite, and received full points. This color also matches the correct color necessary for the entirety of the front suspension and rear axle, of which all the components were painted black.
