On later cars, the shift lever uses a vinyl booth rather than a paint matched metal tower. This is also sometimes required on Bugeyes for cars that have no metal tower, a later (rib case) shift lever with a large counterweight on the bottom, or for people who just prefer a vinyl boot to a rubber one.
We have fabricated a metal trim ring that you can use for any of the applications listed above. This trim ring is made out of 1/8" thick aluminum and requires you to drill the holes for mounting. You can polish the trim ring and keep it aluminum (as seen in the photo installed on a car), or paint it to match the interior.
