3.9 Ring and Pinion Gear Set

We are very happy to have ring and pinion sets to offer! After much searching, and testing, we have a winner! These mated pair sets have a 3.90 ratio, slightly taller than the original (4.22, as used in Bugeyes). With the 3.9 gear set, you will enjoy a roughly 10 percent RPM reduction on the highway in fourth gear, which is nice for longer trips.

NOTE: These ring and pinion sets will ONLY fit in later Sprite differential carriers! To tell which one you have in your Bugeye, look for a fill plug in the side of the carrier, towards the mating surface where it bolts to the rear axle tube. If you see a fill plug in this area, this ring and pinion WILL NOT WORK! ! If your carrier has no plug in this area, you will be good to go.
