In today’s driving environment, been seen is crucial, and we have a complete kit to transform your lighting, and maximize the visibility of your car. LED lights are significantly brighter than the original equipment and a very smart move for any Bugeye (or later Spridget), with no downside. They're not stock, but can only help distracted drivers see you, and when they are not illuminated, no one will know they are there.
This kit also allows you to use the very powerful park lights as daytime running lights, to help you be seen even in broad daylight. They draw very little amperage and will not stress your system.
Each kit includes two white front park light/turn signal bulbs, two red rear turn signal bulbs and two red tail light/brake light bulbs. Also included are screws and new rubber gaskets for your tail light base to tail light lens. An LED flasher is also included, which is required to make your LED turn signals blink.
Our LED kit is tested on more than 100 Bugeyes we have sent out into the world, and now you can buy this same kit we use on most of the cars that leave our building. Highly recommended and I use them on all my personal Bugeyes because they are very effective!
This installation requires minimal mechanical skills. If you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable doing this yourself, any car shop can do it for you with minimal fuss. BTW, the flasher unit in the kit replaces the original flasher which is located on the firewall in the engine bay in front of your passenger seat on LHD cars.
If you are installing new sockets, and would like some information about installing them correctly, we have a great article about bullet connectors here.
To install your park lights, you will need to remove the glass beehive lenses front and rear. Remove the chrome trim rings and the glass lifts out of the rubber socket easily. If your rubber sockets are cracked, you will have trouble replacing the lens so it won’t fall out; best to order new ones by clicking here. To install the tail lights, remove the lens and then remove the bulb, install the new one and mount the lens back on the car. Make sure not to over tighten your lens as it is easy to crack. (new ones are also available here). Replace your flasher and you're all done. NOTE: All light sockets need a good clean ground to work properly. Make sure all connections are good and your park light sockets are clean and rust-free. If these are corroded get new front ones by clicking here and new rear ones by clicking here.
Your car must have a negative ground for these LEDs to operate. Conversion to negative ground is simple. Call or email if you want help making this conversion.
