Bugeyeguys Rear Tube Shock Kit

We've driven LOTS of cars with rear tube shocks, but we never like what they do to the ride quality so we always remove them in favor of good lever shocks. Lever shocks are stiff enough but damp nicely, and give a very pleasant ride. Tube shocks are generally way too harsh.

Lately, lever shocks have been leaking like crazy. And they are never matched, so we get lots of left/right inconsistencies. It has been an annoying problem of late, and we've had to some times change them twice in the same day because of inconsistencies and lousy performance, even though they are freshly rebuilt.

So we decided to fix this problem and end our lever shock addiction.

We've designed our own premium tube shock conversion kit with Spax in the UK, to make a quality product to our specs, that very closely approximates the rear lever shocks in a Spridget. You won't notice a ride quality difference with this tube shock conversion kit installed. And they are matched and uniform and should last a decade or more (some lever shocks have been lasting a year or two before they start leaking!) 

And they're adjustable! Crank 'em up if you prefer super stiffness... the gas shocks can be set to your taste with the simple adjustment wheel.

These shocks painted "Bugeyeguys green" to more closely match the green used in the engine bay for the engine and gearbox. Our tube shock kit also comes with all the fitment bushings needed to securely mount the components with no slop (other tube shock conversions do not).

NOTE: This kit shown here kit is designed for Bugeyes and Sprite MK 2s only, for cars with 1/4 elliptical springs. Call if you are unfamiliar and need help . We also have kits for later cars with half elliptical springs and will add those to our listing shortly!
