3.9 Ring and Pinion Gear Set for EARLY "C" Housing (WITH Drain Plug)

Upgrade your Spridget for better highway cruising!

These mated pair sets have a 3.90 ratio, slightly taller than the original (4.22, as used in Bugeyes and early Sprites/Midgets). With the 3.9 gear set, you will enjoy a roughly 10 percent RPM reduction on the highway in fourth gear, which is nice for longer trips. Many of the original 4.22 ring and pinions are worn and for the longest time there were no new ring and pinions available for early differential carriers until now... upgrade yours with fresh gears!

NOTE: These ring and pinion sets will ONLY fit in early Sprite differential carriers! To tell which one you have in your Bugeye/Sprite/Midget, look for a fill plug in the side of the carrier, towards the mating surface where it bolts to the rear axle tube. If you see a fill plug in this area, this is an early style carrier and this ring and pinion WILL WORK!! If your carrier has no plug in this area, have a "D" style later carrier and you will want the gears available here. We have limited inventory, so be sure to order yours today!
