If you want to amplify your Bugeye's racing heritage, this head fairing is for you! Inspired by Jaguar D-Type racers, this product adds a sleek headrest to your Sprite, while complementing the graceful curves of the back of your car. It's comfortable, courtesy of the plush pillow behind your head, and it looks great! In fact, this is the look we chose for our flagship Bugeye "Gumby," our best looking Bugeye yet.
This is our second generation design, more sleek than ever, and only available here!
There is no need to drill any new holes on your car to mount this product. We designed it to mount directly into the two holes for the chrome top bar hooks that are present on every Sprite rear deck. Simply remove the chrome hook on the diver side and mount the head fairing hold-down bolts and wing-nuts through these holes.
Each head fairing comes with a protective edge guard to protect your back deck. The product can be quickly removed any time you want to leave it home or put up your top.
Each fairing is shipped with an off-white gel coat finish that matches Olde English White. They also look great color-matched to your car, so you may want your body shop to repaint it for you.
Each head fairing unit comes complete with a black vinyl head-rest pillow. Optional colors and contracting piping are also available to match the interior of your particular car. Feel free to ask if we can match your color scheme. Custom work is available... for example, the head pillow shown in green below is custom dyed leather with quilted stitching and custom carbon fiber piping.
The product only fits the driver side on LHD cars.
The head fairing coordinates nicely with our hard tonneau (another D-type inspired product). You can see a few customer cars with these products fit in the photos below.
Note: Upon initial installation, remove the chrome top hook and place your head fairing in place on the back deck of your car. Using an awl or marker, reach up from the boot through the top hook holes and mark the fairing cross bar, to locate the screws exactly where they need to be on your particular car. Drill the two holes under the fairing (in the fairing cross bar (again, no new holes are required on your car) and secure it to your car. Since every car is slightly different, we ship the fairings undrilled.
