In today’s driving environment, been seen is crucial, and we now have a  complete kit to transform your lightning, and maximize the visibility of your fine car. LED lights are significantly brighter than the original equipment and a very smart move for any Bugeye, with no downside. They're not stock, but can only help distracted drivers see you, and when they are not illuminated, no one will know they are there.

Check out the two pictures of the red Bugeye above, which demonstrate the massive improvement you get with the LED light kit. In the "before" picture (on the car with California plates), you can see the dim stock old fashioned tail light bulbs. In the adjacent picture. the red car with Oklahoma plates and LED lights is dramatically brighter. This demonstrates the importance of these light. They help us all to be seen in an increasingly distracted driving environment.

This kit also allows you to use the very powerful park lights as daytime running lights, to help you be seen even in broad daylight. They draw very little amperage and will not stress your system.

Each kit includes two white front park light/turn signal bulbs, two red rear turn signal bulbs and a tail light/brake light assembly pre-mounted on a new correct tail light base. Also included are connectors and new rubber gaskets for your tail light base and tail light lens. An LED flasher is also included, which is required to make your LED turn signals blink.

Our LED kit is tested on more than 100 Bugeyes we have sent out into the world, and now you can buy this same kit we use on most of the cars that leave our building. Highly recommended and I use them on all my personal Bugeyes because they are very effective!

This installation requires intermediate mechanical skills. If you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable doing this yourself, any car shop can do it for you with minimal fuss. BTW, the flasher unit in the kit replaces the original flasher which is located on the firewall in the engine bay in front of your passenger seat on LHD cars.

If you are installing new sockets, and would like some information about installing them correctly, we have a great article about bullet connectors here.

To install your park lights, you will need to remove the glass behive lenses front and rear. Remove the chrome trim rings and the glass lifts out of the rubber socket easily. If your rubber sockets are cracked, you will have trouble replacing the lense so it won’t fall out-best to order new ones by clicking here. To install the tail lights, remove the lens and then remove the chrome tail light base assembly. Wire up the new LED tail/brake light and mount it back on the car. Make sure not to over tighten your lens as it is easy to crack.  (new ones are also available here). Replace your flasher and you're all done. NOTE: All light sockets need a good clean ground to work properly. Make sure all connections are good and your park light sockets are clean and rust-free. If these are corroded get new front ones by clicking here and new rear ones by clicking here

Your car must have a negative ground for any LEDs to operate. Conversion to negative ground is simple. Call or email if you want help making this conversion.

LED Kit includes:

2 Red LED bulbs for rear turn signals
2 White LED bulbs for front running and turn signals
2 LED tail light assemblies mounted on new chrome bases
2 Tail Light base gaskets
2 Tail light lense gaskets
Hardware to install tail lights
LED flasher unit

Install note:

RED WIRE: Brake Lights connect to the green/purple wires from the car
BLUE WIRE: Running Lights connect to the red wire from the car
BLACK WIRE: Ground connect to the black wire in the car

To wire up the LED flasher unit, the lighter color green wires goes to center terminal (for the indicator). For the remaining two terminals,  one is power, the other is switched, connect those to the side terminals. If it doesn’t work, switch the two side terminals.
If the original wiring is no longer identifiable, then you can use a multimeter to determine which wiring has power running to it and install from there based on the instructions above.

Note: It is not unusual for these lights to flicker at low RPMs, especially with a generator.

If you have a positive ground car, then you need this LED kit!

Note: This kit will also fit MGA's with 1500/1600 Engines, and Morris Minors.
